Pizza at the Park last weekend…
Hello amazing people!
I wanted to share some of the fun ways God showed up this past Sunday to warm you up on this wintery Wednesday!
We had our coldest Sunday yet (36 degrees...) and debated if we needed to move our Pizza at the Park indoors. The ground was damp from a little snowfall that morning and everything looked pretty dreary. However, after praying and seeing the dry radar, we decided to stick with the plan and gather outside! We brought boxes of gloves and hats (thanks Amazon!) and a ton of hand-warmers that we pre-shook (we learned the hard way, last time...), loaded up the chairs and supplies and headed to the park. Three out of our four signs that we had set up advertising Pizza at the Park were stolen Saturday morning, so we weren't sure we would have many visitors. (But we were hoping it meant Satan wanted to stop whatever God was up to!!) We were pumped to experience the latter!
On Sunday, we had many of our regulars and sweet group of kiddos ready to learn about God's love! It was a chilly gathering, but we were stuffing hand-warmers inside shoes, hats on cold heads and drinking Ale8 to put a smile on our faces. It was fun! We were able to give away TWO Bibles, pray over a man who asked for prayer after grabbing some slices of pizza, interact with two couples for the second time, and for the FIRST time have someone grab some pizza, walk back to their house and come back to STAY for the time in the Word!!! It was powerful! Five or six of our guests came from a new Sober-Living residence, directly across from the park - definitely NOT a coincidence!!! We are excited to watch God grow our relationships down here as He illuminates His hope in the East End.
After Sunday's powerful experience we have decided we want to be at the park consistently - cold or warm and have a couple specific needs if you feel nudged to get involved!
1 - Outdoor Propane Heaters (for all the cold feet & faces!) https://a.co/d/9w6Mbsk
2 - A few sturdier camping chairs (we are needing 4-5) https://a.co/d/5PFmbRo
*These can be shipped to 245 Rand Ave., Lexington, KY 40508
Thank you for praying and being a part of this adventure with us!
God is so cool!!
