Renewal
"He who was seated on the throne said, 'I am making everything new!"
-Revelation 21:5
This past Monday we were able to gather and celebrate a very special renewing of vows between DeWayne and Tina Amos. DeWayne and Tina have been neighbors of our family since we moved onto Rand Avenue over five years ago. We've watched them battle sickness, hospital stays, surgeries and financial crises while remaining committed and faithful to one another. These two fully understand the phrase, "in sickness and health." We were delighted to witness them recommit themselves to one another and celebrate the beauty of marriage here in the East End. It turns out DeWayne and Tina weren't able to have anyone at their wedding 8 years ago, so this was like the ceremony they never got to have!
We have continued to be blown away by God working and moving down here in the East End. Thanks to the beautiful shade (and some fun rechargeable fans) we have been able to meet each first and third Sunday at the park this summer. We've loved watching God intentionally draw people to Himself who think they are only coming for "free pizza." :) We have new visitors every week and have a wonderful group of regular attendees. We often encounter people who are reluctant to stay for the Bible discussion, but eagerly receive prayer or take a Bible home with them. This past week we saw probably the most of our pizza eaters actually stay for the time in the Word! And they had a LOT of questions! Please continue to pray for an increasing hunger for the Lord in the people of the East End and for our team as we try to love and serve them well.
Our next gathering will be Sunday, July 21st at 3pm. Come check it out!
